Details on Membership

1.   Link your website to your directory listing.   ($5, $10, $15 and $20 per month members)

We do a direct link from your directory listing to your website.   We do not do a second pop up window.  If they click on your site, they go to your site.

2.   Your directory listing is enhanced.   ($10, $15 and $20 per month members)

On a first come, first served basis we place and bold your directory listing.  If there are currently no members in your business directory, then you will be the number one.  Future members are placed in the next available position.

3.   Your website is included in our search engine database  ($10, $15 and $20 per month members)

How does the Nevada County Commerce search engine differ from Google, Yahoo, or any of the local directory based search engines, for that matter?     Nevada County Commerce has a search engine that is specific to, and relevant to the Nevada County area.  When you want to search the world wide web you go to Google, when you want to know anything relating to Grass Valley, Nevada City, Lake Wildwood, Penn Valley, Rough and Ready, Lake of the Pines, or the many outlying rural areas - you go to Nevada County Commerce

How do you make the search engine specific to,  and relevant to the Nevada County area?  There are two essential ways we ensure that the content stays specific:    1.  Our search engine is an editor based search engine, meaning that someone has to input the data, as opposed to search engines that use “spidering technology”.  Our search engine is designed to provide you with results that are relevant to the searched for Nevada County subject.     2.  We also do not charge anyone to be included in the directory portion of our search engine.    By offering FREE services to the public, we can then provide a more useful search engine back for everyone to benefit from. 

4.   Post once a month on the Nevada County Business Bulletin Board  ($15 and $20 per month members)

How many web pages is the Bulletin board on?    It is on over 300 Nevada County based web pages right now.  We expect that number to soon exceed 500.

Can anyone post an ad on the bulletin board?    No, only Members may use it.

How often can a Member post?    Up to once each month.

5.   Banner Ad Spots on our web network  ($15 and $20 per month members)

How can I put a banner advertisement on one of your web pages?    When you are a member, you automatically can place 3 banner advertisements on any of our approved web pages.

Do you rotate placement of the banner advertisements.    No, once you have a spot it is yours for as long as you are member.  It is first come, first served.

I don't have a banner, can you make one for me?    Yes, we can make a basic banner with your business name, address, phone, and link for just $30.

I don't have a web site, can you build one for me?    Yes, we our $20 per month membership package provides you with a website.

6.   Web page is provided for your business  If you become a $20 per month member, we will build you a web page for your business.

Photo Gallery-  An online photo gallery is available here for viewing digital pictures.   Local  photographers, who wish to showcase their photographs here,  can post their pictures, and we provide a free link to their website.  Most of the photo content is Nevada County related, however we do not restrict content for any local photographer.

News and Events-  Here you are able to read about the latest news directly from various news sources.

Shop Nevada County-  We provide access to the online shopping guides, newspaper classified ads, and a secure storefront for you, or any internet user, to shop online in our community.

Real Estate  -  You can look up real estate offices and agents and view their websites.  Many of these agents have links to MLS search engines and foreclosure properties.

 Can our kids safely use your site?    Yes, because we are editor based, there is a much less likely risk that there could be anything objectionable in a search result.  Also, we do monitor this website on a regular basis.
